XP's new Bone Conduction Headphones for the Deus II are fully waterproof to 20 meters depth with IP68 rating. The phones rest on the cheek-bone in front of the ear, not in or over the ear. This means the ears can be plugged when under water or in noisy or windy environments, without affecting your hearing the detector. You may also leave your ears open and uncovered to be able to take in the sounds of your surroundings unhindered by muffs or buds. This happens by vibrations conducted through your bone directly to the inner-ear as opposed to through your ear drum. This method of audio delivery means that some hearing impared users will be able to hear the phones by feeling vibrations, where conventional headphones would not work. The system also allows for adjusting the audio frequences to help improve the user's sound perception.
These headphones are compatible with the Deus II only and come with a 5 year warranty.
